HAVE FUN IN FAITH
Being a Christian in all parts of life.
At Shandon, children discover complete Christian faith… learning, sharing, having fun and being a Christian everyday… at home, at school and at play.
Through a wide variety of diverse indoor and outdoor activities, children experience exciting, fun adventures that encourage friendships and growth in their relationship with God.
Whether through activities, like Vacation Bible School, Day Camp, First and Second or TFF (Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades) — offering lots of opportunities for arts and crafts, games, music and drama — to spending time in God’s wonderful creation enjoying fishing, canoeing, rock wall climbing, water slides and swimming…
Family activities like Bingo Night and Lenten and Advent Workshops — offering children and families fun, entertaining and educational time together…
Children at Shandon experience being a Christian in all parts of life.
Boy Scout Troop 37, based out of Shandon United Methodist Church, has a rich history as the Boy Scout Charter was initiated April 1, 1948, making the Troop 70+ years old. Troop 37 is part of the Congaree District and the Indian Waters Council; and is honored that over 130 young men have completed the rank of Eagle Scout while a member of Troop 37.
Shandon offers boys, kindergarten-12th grade, an opportunity to be involved in the Boy Scouts of America program.
The United Methodist Church long ago recognized scouting offers another setting for ministry to children and youth. Shandon hosts both Cub Scouts, kindergarten-5th grade, and Boy Scouts, 6th-12th grades, helping young people develop character, leadership skills and citizenship as well as self-worth and potential in a fun, adventure-filled and nurturing environment.
Troop meetings are every Wednesday evening starting at 7:00 p.m., in the Knox Building, room 209, during the school year. The Troop is always open to new Scouts, transferring Scouts and anyone interested in learning more about the Scouting program.
For more information, contact Scoutmaster, Will Merritt at 803-467-4569 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shandon sponsors basketball teams for 3rd-12th grades. The teams compete in several different church leagues. Registration begins in September and the season lasts through late February.
