CHOIRS AND ENSEMBLES
ALL CHOIRS AND ENSEMBLES ARE OPEN TO ANYONE WISHING TO DEDICATE THEIR TALENTS AND TIME AS A MUSICAL OFFERING TO GOD. No auditions are required, just a commitment to serve.
The Chancel Choir performs a variety of music including classical, traditional, hymns and spirituals. It rehearses and sings in worship weekly. The choir performs with orchestra several times a years. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 p.m., late August-mid-June.
The Celebration Choir performs a variety of music including contemporary and spirituals. It rehearses twice a month and sings in 8:45 a.m. worship on the second Sunday of the month. The choir also provides special seasonal and holiday music events. Rehearsals are Wednesdays before the second Sunday and on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Shandon's Youth Choir is open to all guys and girls, 7th-12th grades who like to sing. They sing during various worship services and for special programs and events. Each summer, the choir attends a music festival. Rehearsals are Sunday evenings at various times. For rehearsal times, contact Eddie Huss, Minister of Music at firstname.lastname@example.org

Shandon’s children’s choirs introduce children to the wonderful world of expressing their faith through music. All choirs sing at various services and special events. Children's choirs rehearse Wednesday evenings and Orff instruments (tone bar instruments) and choir chimes are part of the choirs’ curriculums. (More about Children's Ministry: Faith Explorers)
Cherub Choir – four and five-year-olds: Rehearsals 6:15-6:45 p.m., September-early May
St. Cecilia Choir – grades 1-3: Rehearsals 6:00-6:45 p.m., September-early May
St. Nicholas Choir – grades 4-6: Rehearsals 6:00-6:45 p.m., September-early May
Shandon’s adult handbell ensemble rings for various worship services September-May and occasionally for special services. The Ringers rehearse Monday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Shandon’s rock band fills the 11:05 a.m. LifeLine contemporary service with a beat. This group of volunteers and professionals plays each Sunday morning and for special events. Non-musical volunteers are welcome to help with set-up and break-down of equipment.
SEASONAL MUSIC SERVICES
celebration rich in Christian community, filled with beautiful music by the Chancel Choir and orchestra and sharing bread, coffee and warm fellowship.
HANGING OF THE GREENS
A moving service filled with Christian symbolism, glorious decorations and beautiful music of the season by the Celebration Choir and Wesley Ringers. Hanginf of the Greens marks the beginning the Advent Season – commemorating the coming birth of Jesus through placing ivy, cedar, mistletoe and holly. This service is designed to help us prepare our hearts to welcome the Christ Child.
EDDIE HUSS & FRIENDS BENEFIT CONCERT
A wonderful Christmas program filled with beautiful music by a variety of performers and benefitting an outreach nonprofit organization.
A variety of musical presentations are performed throughout the year by the Chancel Chancel with orchestra and soloists as well as performances by the Youth Choir, Children's Choirs and various musical guests.
ARTS FEST: MUSIC AND ARTS EVENTS
In addition to choirs and music programs, Music and Arts also sponsors ArtsFest. ArtsFest offers several events throughout the year to discover God’s presence through exploring, sharing and developing musical and artistic creativity. These events have included musical dinners, music and art classes, music festivals and commissioned art, as well as rotating art exhibits in The Gallery.
MUSIC & ARTS WEEK
For rising first-sixth graders. A week filled with singing, choir chimes, Orff instruments, art projects and refreshments.
