Shandon United

1Rev. Josh McClendon was appointed as Minister of Assimilation and Discipleship at Shandon United Methodist in July 2012.  Josh received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 2004 and a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2009.

He has served in diverse ministry settings, with experience in camps and retreats, local and long-term international missions, hunger and homeless outreach, and campus ministry.  Josh feels most called to fostering intentional community and authentic service among God’s people, as they strive together to be true followers of Jesus.

Prior to coming to Shandon, Josh was a part-time local pastor while attending seminary, served three years on the Bethel-Philadelphia charge in the Rock Hill district, and was ordained as an Elder in 2011.

Josh and his wife Karen, a registered nurse, have two daughters, Kaela and Joella , and a son, Jude.
