STEPHEN MINISTRY
Offering confidential, one-on-one support.

WE ALL NEED GOD'S LOVE EVERY SECOND OF OUR LIVES, BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN GOD'S LOVE IS ESPECIALLY PRECIOUIS TO US — TIMES OF LONELINESS, DEPRESSION, ILLNESS, GRIEF AND LIFE TRANSITIONS.

At times like these, it is important to have someone who will be there and listen without judging. Lay caregivers, called Stephen Ministers, provide one-on-one, completely confidential caring for those who are hurting from some stressful event in their lives. They visit weekly, listen, pray and offer confidential Christian friendship and love.

Shandon has been a Stephen Ministry congregation for over 10 years and one of the over 8000 churches that participate in this distinctively Christian caring program. Stephen Ministers are trained in the national Stephen Ministry program and receive 50 hours of initial training and regularly participate in a continuing education and supervision session.

If you or someone you know would like a Stephen Minister friend, contact Rev. Carly Wicklund at cwicklund@shandon-umc.org or
256-8383, ext. 102 or Norma Weldon at nweldon@shandon-umc.org.
